Winter's snow is melting, spring sun is shining, and bike paths are officially re-opening, so you know what that means: Montreal bike season is here.
You're gonna wanna brush up on your bike etiquette, but you'll also want to get your bike in gear (pun intended). To help you find the best bike shop for your needs, we, with some help with our pals at Allo Vélo, we've got a legit list of Montreal's many bike shops.
5165 Notre-Dame West
A combo bike boutique & cafe, Allo Velo does things a bit differently, in a very good way. Specializing in urban bikes and unique accessories, Allo Velo gets all its bikes straight from Europe (some exclusive to the store) that make up wide selection, with builds appealing to everyone's vibe. Friendly and helpful, these guys live and breathe bike culture, and will help you out no matter your skill level.
Hardcore cyclists will love Cycle Technique. With an on-site training facility and coaching services, triathletes, road racers, and athletes in general will love this spot. 808 Fixed Gear Shop next door is owned by the same people, which is a less intimidating shop with basic repairs and more hip/fashionable bikes.
Right by the Lachine Canal, My Bicyclette will be a God-send to those who need a quick tune-up before rolling out onto the waterside bike path. If you don't have your own bike, you can also rent one from the shop, and take a custom guided bike tour. Families will appreciate the amount of kid-friendly bikes and equipment in stock too.
This shop wins points for the name alone. Situated in the Village (adding to the name's greatness) this shop is popular with bike messengers as it carries a lot of custom single speed and city bikes. Good repair work make it a good choice for any cyclist.
Le Grand Cycle

What used to be an old diner is now Le Grand Cycle. For ten years Le Grand Cycle has been catering to a variety of cyclists, providing repairs and a selection of mountain, road, and city bikes. They're also right next to the Cherrier bike path if you need a quick tune-up.
2127 Rachel East
