Cover photo cred - Flickr

Montreal is home to some of the best concert photographers in the world. Living in such musically inclined city, it's only understandable that so many live to capture the moment and feel of the beats and sounds. First we brought to you Montreal's best nightlife photographers, the ones who shot photos of you committing your very best drunken debaucheries. Now, for the ones who continuously help us relive some of the best concerts, shows and acts that have hit the stages of Montreal, we've compiled a list of this city's absolute best concert photographers.

Wow. With over 180 bands a year for 4 years, hard to pick. I love shooting festivals (Osheaga, Heavy MTL, Warped Tour). Single shows? I recently loved shooting Steve Aoki, Airbourne, Japandroids.

Its an even race between my first one, which was Symphony X, to the Florence + The Machine performance at Osheaga 2012, to Mackelmore's mind-blowing show last year. Even the Monster Truck/ Buckcherry show I shot and reviewed a few weeks back blew my mind.

One of my all-time favorite concerts was certainly last year's Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa. Being on stage shooting Tiesto was a big accomplishment for me, a long time goal. I must say that I also enjoyed shooting Justice in Las Vegas last spring.

The World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF) in 2011 was one of my best experiences ever. To be close to so many big DJs in one day, and to be able to take so many pictures in a 3 days at an outdoor festival was a truly amazing experience. The vibe was nothing like I ever experienced!

Probably the last Coldplay show at the Bell Centre. There was so much happening (confettis, balloons, Chris Martin running everywhere), that not a single shot was the same. The lightning was amazing, the band was very energetic and their set-up was very colorful. Basically, it had every ingredient to make a show really fun to shoot and challenging at the same time.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros was definitely one of the most memorable shows - the atmosphere of that night was pretty special.

I have been photographing concerts for a very long time now (I started in 1996), and it would be almost impossible to say that I have a favorite. It's a bit like asking a parent to pick a favorite child... From the shows at L'X, Café L'Inconditionnel, the Spectrum all the way to the Bell Center, I've seen some pretty incredible bands. I guess the two that stand out recently were FLAG at Rockfest last summer (Black Flag have been one of my favorite bands for ages) and Bob Mould at Osheaga who put on an incredibly intense set. I am very fortunate to have the job that I have and to have seen the bands that I have seen. I am sure that I will be blown away by some band I have never heard of before sometime soon.

So many to choose from! Tiesto, DeadMau5, David Guetta and Armin Van Buuren are a blast, but nothing compares to capturing the sheer energy of our homegrown heroes Adventure Club and Sultan And Ned Sheppard.
