Do you like fish tacos? Oof course you do, they're delicious. Warm, flaky, sometimes deep-fried, fish, bold Mexican flavours, handy edible envelope, fish tacos are seriously underrated as far as wrapped meals go. Yes, Montreal might suffer from a slight lack of real, authentic Mexican food, (or at least some would have me believe), but it's still not impossible to find some truly tasty fish tacos in the city.

This tiny shack in the plateau do a lot of things right, especially when it comes to their awesome fish tacos. Their spicy mahi mahi tacos are warm and crispy, served with a tangy coleslaw, and just enough heat to really complement the fish. So good.

L'Gros Luxe has been on a tear ever since they first opened in the Plateau, and now with a second location in the Mile End, they are firmly establishing their foodie dominance in Montreal. Check out their fried tilapia tacos with marinated red onions, chipotle slaw and coriander. 2 for $6 and just $2 more for each additional one.
Cartel Street Food Bar

You should already be well familiar with Montreal's premier taco foodtruck, who's creative taco hybrids get people lining up wherever it goes, but the rest of the year, Grumman '78 dish up some equally delicious tacos at the St-Henri restaurant. While the menu tends to go with the flow and change often, recently they served up a fantastic monk fish taco with beet remoulade, red pepper jam and watercress garnish. Uh, yummy.
Lucille's Oyster Dive
Another Montreal food truck favourite, Lucille's Oyster Dive still cook up a storm no matter the season, and since they do seafood so well, it;s no surprise their fish taco's are the shiz. Nice crunch to the batter, perfectly seasoned and garnished with a good mix of sweet and salty flavours served with a tomatillo salsa.
Maïs is in Montreal has become somewhat synonymous with hipster beach shack, but don't let that deter you from trying their amazing fish tacos. Served in a corn tortilla (gluten-free obvs), you can't go wrong with Maïs' flaky fish tacos served with avocado, homemade coleslaw and marinated chilies.
So, maybe not the most authentic entry on this list, Fiddler's Green cod tacos are still every bit as delicious. Yes, they are found in an Irish pub, but that just means plenty of beer and jigging while you devour their massive, lightly-battered cod tacos, garnished with salsa and guacamole, and served with salad and fries. Make sure you ask for a little hot sauce for that extra kick.
