I don't know about you, but when I want some tasty seafood, my mind immediately turns to lobster. When it's fresh and nicely cooked, lobster is mind-blowingly delicious. As it just so happens, lobster season is quickly approaching and luckily for us, Montreal has an abundance of restaurants serving up some of the best lobster dishes around.
1. Le Filet

While it's not on the menu at all times (even though we wish it was), Le Filet often has a half lobster with hollandaise sauce as their special of the evening, and it's seriously delicious. The lobster is super fresh and the hollandaise isn't too overpowered, making for one amazing meal.

Operating out of a renovated shipping container, this pop-up restaurant in Old Port is open 7 days a week (weather permitting) from May to October. Thankfully for us, they have one of the best lobster rolls in the city. It always has fresh chunks of lobster and comes in the classic East Coast lobster roll bread. Our only problem with it is that we wish we could get it all year round, because this stuff is the bomb.
3. The Keg
25 Rue Saint Paul E & Place Ville Marie
Every summer, usually towards the end of June, The Keg has their annual Lobster Fest, which is not to be missed. They bring in fresh Atlantic lobster and cook it to perfection. You can get a whole lobster, a half lobster with steak, or a lobster and shrimp salad - all of which are insanely delicious, so there's really no wrong choice here.
4. Garde Manger

The specialty dish at Garde Manger is a lobster poutine, and yes, it's as amazing as it sounds. You get huge chunks of lobster on top of crispy fries, which are then covered in a flavourful gravy and finished off with cheese curds.
5. Lucille’s Oyster Dive
Lucille's has quite a few lobster options on their menu, none of which will disappoint. You can enjoy a refreshing raw bar lobster cocktail, a hearty and flavourful lobster roll with fries (which you can also get from their food truck), or a grilled lobster plate with a mixed green salad.
6. Bâton Rouge

On their menu, Baton Rouge has a delicious lobster risotto that's made with chunks of lobster and corn. Luckily, that's not the end of the lobster-y goodness at this restaurant. They also have a seasonal "Paint the Town Red" lobster festival in the summer where you can find delectable dishes such as lobster bisque, lobster stuffed mushrooms, lobster poutine, lobster spring rolls, lobster sandwich, lobster ravioli, and lobster tail and ribs. The worst part of your meal will be trying to make a decision.

Putting their own spin on the traditional lobster dish, Notkins has a lobster burger made with perfectly steamed lobster chunks. It comes on a golden bun with french fries and coleslaw, and it's every bit as tasty as you'd imagine it to be.

When it comes to lobster, Bocata has two mouthwatering options. The first is a lobster carbonara tagliatelle, made with lobster bisque, smoked bacon, shallots, sundried tomatoes and topped with an egg yolk in its shell. The second is a lobster roll with bacon & corn velouté, made with lobster bisque, mayonnaise, lightly toasted pain au lait, oak leaves and home made coleslaw.
9. Rib 'N Reef Steakhouse
Steak and lobster go together like no other, and thankfully Rib 'N Reef does both flawlessly. Here you can get either a Caribbean rock lobster tail or maritime lobster. Both are incredibly fresh and flavourful and will satisfy any and all of your lobster cravings.
10. Chez Delmo

This seafood restaurant in Old Montreal knows how to properly serve up some lobster. On their menu they have a half lobster with avocado main course that's sure to make your tastebuds light up. The fresh flavours of the lobster and the creaminess of the avocado go perfectly together and make for one good meal.
11. Cartel Street Food Bar
101 Fairmont O
One thing that you can never say about Cartel Street Food's lobster roll is that there's not enough lobster, because this thing comes with huge pieces. Served up on a soft golden bun, this fresh roll will be sure to put your tastebuds on another level and keep you coming back for more.

Serving up farm-fresh Québécois dishes in downtown Montreal, Toqué has an amazing lobster cavatelli dish. The pasta is delicate and homemade, and the chunks of lobster are plentiful and so, so tasty. It's all topped off with a delectable creamy sauce that brings it all together.

The dishes at Pintxo are small, Spanish-style snacks that are meant to be shared, but the grilled lobster tail here is so good that the chances of you actually sharing it are minimal. It is one of the more expensive items on the menu, but trust us, it's worth it.
14. La Queue de Cheval
Lobster is so important at La Queue de Cheval that it has its very own "Angry Lobster" menu. They have the classic lobster roll and lobster bisque, which are amazing, but they also have some more unique and equally delicious options, such as the spicy lobster and short rib dumplings - oh, and the lobster tempura.
