Turns out, quite a few of our city favourites have had their spot on a big screen. It honestly looks like Montreal is in the lead when it comes to great eats.


1. Schwartz's Deli

Known best for their traditional smoked meat sandwiches, this deli is actually the oldest in Canada making it not only the best in the city but the best in the country. Check them out for yourself and grab their classic sandwich and fries while you're there.

This southern-styled gem was praised on the show for serving the ultimate fried chicken, not just on a plate, but in an ACTUAL bucket! Needless to say it's obvious why they got their spot on the show.

3. Boîte à Fromages

Not your average restaurant by any means, this spot is actually a fully decked out food truck that serves some of the most amazing European comfort food you may ever have. The best part? Your order is finished off with a giant heaping of melted cheese straight from a cheese wheel. It's truly magical!

4. Chaud Dogs

Another amazing Montreal food truck known for classic eats with an insane spin, this is where you want to go if you're looking for gourmet hot dogs with a twist. There's a few options with this spot but one of the most popular has to be The Wu, a hot dog served with house-made Indonesian chili sauce and topped with crispy chicken.

Probably known best for their Quebecois comfort food, the Plateau Mont-Royal restaurant not only offers some of the best burgers and poutine in the city but also a really relaxed dining space.

If you're looking for out of this world donuts then this is the place to be. From options such as margarita lime donuts to the classic Simpson's pink frosting and sprinkles, you need to go here at least once in your life.

7. L'Avenue

This is probably the best brunch spot in Montreal. Serving eats like crunchy panko coated french toast, also coated in ham, cheese, and maple syrup, where could you possibly go wrong?!

8. Nouveau Palais

Gourmet burgers are on the menu at this TV famous restaurant. The upscale diner has three different menus packed with goodies such as pizza, fried chicken, and of course their world-famous burgers.

9. Super Truck

Another food truck that should definitely be on your list by now, they aren't called "super" for nothing. Out of this world menu items include deep-fried mac n' cheese, crispy pork belly served with green papaya and a chili-lime caramel sauce, and their classic "Super Sandwich" that you'll just have to go try yourself.

Another spot that makes smoked meat their specialty, you have to go here for the delicious rib-steak-smoked meat! The menu is incredibly bountiful with food for everyone, so you may want to get over there ASAP.

11. Pizzeria Napoletana

PIZZA!! There's no doubt hundreds of pizzeria's across Montreal, but this one may just be the best. The spot has been around since the 1940's, so you know they're serving up the authentic italian favourite. Their tomato sauce and dough is made in-house, making their pizza truly glorious and unique.

12. St Viateur Bagel Shop

Yes, this shop is basicially your initiation into becoming a true Montrealer, but who knew it's been on TV?! Getting your classic bagels here, whether you top them with cream cheese and salmon or with some butter, never felt better now that you know it's officially been declared the best you can get.
