Best Parks To Go Tanning At In Montreal

For most people the summer sunshine means one thing: finally being able to ditch your pasty, Vitamin D deprived, winter skin and start to work on your summer tan. One of the easiest (and not to mention cheapest) ways to do this is to simply walk outside and soak in some of the sun's rays. Luckily for us, Montreal has plenty of beautiful parks where you can can go and set up your own personal tanning station, so we've complied for you a list of the best ones.
1. Cap-Saint-Jacques Nature Park
20099 Gouin O
If you thought you had to travel far to go to a beach in Montreal, think again. Located on the West Island, this park is almost entirely bordered by water, and as a result has a natural sand beach which is perfect for laying out on and working on your tan. If sand isn't your thing, they also have plenty of green space where you can grab a patch of grass and catch some rays.
2. Mount Royal Park
1260 Remembrance
One of the more popular parks in the city, Mount Royal has tons of open space, which is perfect for optimal sun exposure. If you're looking to avoid it when it's super busy (to prevent the possibility of being creeped on while you tan) we would recommend not going on Sundays since it can get pretty crazy during Tam Tams. But if onlookers don't bother you, going during tam tams can actually be pretty fun.
3. Parc La Fontaine
1619 Route 138
A personal favourite of mine, Parc Lafontaine is conveniently located in the Plateau. When you go make sure to head over to the side of the park that has the pond with the fountain in it for ultimate loung-able grass space for you to tan on.
4. Parc Jean Drapeau
1 Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Located just off the island, this park is home to the beautiful Jean-Dore Beach. You can lay out on the sand at take in the rays, and when you get too hot, you can walk 10 feet and go for a dip in the water.
5. Parc Angrignon
3400 Boulevard Trinitarian
If you're looking for somewhere a little less busy than the typical Montreal park, Parc Angrignon is usually a safe bet. This hidden gem has tons of beautiful, open space. All you have to do is bring your towel and be ready to soak in that Vitamin D.
6. Promenade Bellerive
Notre-Dame S to St-Lawrence River
This entire park is located between Notre Dame and the Saint Lawrence river, so no matter where in it you are, you're going to have a pretty nice view of the water. They also have tons of picnic tables so if you want to make a whole day of it, you can bring along a picnic and have lunch in the park.
7. Jarry Park
285 Gary-Carter
Sat in Villeray, this huge park has so much open space, making it a perfect spot to build up your tan. And incase you like to get your tan on while doing activities, they also have tons of sports and recreational facilities from a skatepark to tennis courts.
