Igloofest just announced their official lineup for the 2016 edition of the winter festival every single Montrealer is waiting for. In an effort to represent our Montreal Djs, MTL Blog decided to do a quick listing of the local Djs you need to see this year.
From Lunice to Ryan Playground, first timers to Igloofest experienced artists, we are here to make sure you go the right date and the right time for your ears' proper pleasures:
Photo cred - Ryan Playground
Ryan Playground is signed to local creative agency Saintwoods. She's been in and around the local scene for some time, recognized as a top DJ, producer and singer, Ryan Playground will have you dancing all night long to her beautiful mixes.
Black Tiger Sex Machine just got back from a Europe tour and are ready to take over North America for their 2016 BTSM Church Tour. With their extremely original tiger formed masks, the electro based trio is back for an Igloofest performance not to miss.
Shaydakiss is not just making noise here at her hometown, but is also solidifying her presence nation-wide in Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City and Vancouver. Topping that, she's played the hottest spots in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami alongside artists like Diplo, A-Trak, Chromeo, Skrillex, & more.
Now, Bambii is actually located right now in Toronto but for what's it worth, it will be her first Igloofest showcase and she is absolutely amazing. She opened for Machine Drum, Falcons, Mykki Blanco, LE1F and recently collaborated with Full Crate. She enjoys playing House, RNB, Jersey & Global Sounds. Bambii will also be dropping an EP in 2016!
We've all been waiting in eager anticipation for the lineup drop for the massive rave fest that is îleSoniq and it's finally here! The two-day EDM festival will take over Parc Jean-Dapeau this August 14 & 15 for its second edition and just based on the artists and DJ's set to perform this year, it's gonna be huge.
The crazy-ass lineup includes the world-class DJ hero Deadmau5 (!), the South-African bad-ass duo Die Antwoord (!!), and local electro mind-blowers Black Tiger Sex Machine (!!!).
Other notables include Azelea Banks, Flosstradamus and Showtek just to name a few, but all in all, you done good îleSoniq. You done real good.
Anyone who has ever seen/read "A Clockwork Orange" (which you should go do right now if you haven't) will remember the Korova Milk Bar, which is probably what the Saint-Laurent bar/club is named after. The scene is infamous, as film/novel opens with Alexander the Large and his crew sipping on some milk-plus and basically looking all creepy-cool. You've no doubt imagined the awesome of being at a similar milk bar at least once, and tonight you'll have the chance, at the The Kannibalen Clockwork Orange event hosted at Le Belmont.
While you won't be able to order vellocet, synthemesc, or drencrom milks at the bar, the Kannibalen Milk-Bar will still be A Clockwork Orange-centric evening that promists to be "a night of the old ultra-violence" though we doubt any Lana Del Rey is going to be played. Beats will be provided by SNAILS, who will be joined by Black Tiger Sex Machine, Dabin, Charlie Darker and Dubspecter.
Don your bowler hats and ocular makeup tonight (as it's the only time you'll get away with wearing either after Halloween) and head to Kannibalen A Clockwork Orange Milk-Bar party at Le Belmont. Get all the details the event listing here.
