Canada Post Has Announced That None Of Your Holiday Deliveries Are Going To Arrive On Time This Year And People On Twitter Are Outraged

It came completely out of the blue, just when we thought Canada Post workers were going back to work in time for the holidays and we all sighed a breath of relief, they turned things around on us and dropped this bomb of an announcement.

TL;DR Canada Post announced yesterday that their holiday delivery guarantee would be canceled this year, sending the entire country into rage. Below is a compilation of tweets from Canadians who have expressed their opinion on the company.

Yes, it's true, the biggest delivery service in the country has basically canceled the holidays, because they aren't delivering your packages on time this year.

The company announced that after five weeks of rotating strikes, they have three times the volume of mail and parcels they normally would during this time of year.

If you've already mailed your holiday gifts and cards through Canada Post, you're out of luck this season. But if you were holding off, luckily the other shippers in the country are still running on time.

Needless to say, this whole fiasco has enraged quite a few Canadians who happened to take to twitter and voice their opinions:

Not surprised @canadapostcorp decides to go on strike during Xmas season. Sick of these guys abusing their power. Stop striking or at least take "Canada" out of your name.. #stopwitholdingmymail #supportcanada #abuseofpower #expensiveshippingshitservice

My pain meds were a week late due to rotating Canada Post strikes. Luckily I didn’t run out. Stopping post to honour deceased people seems to be an arbitrary service disruption.

Others seemed a bit less furious with the strike, but nonetheless their frustration was channeled into humour we can all appreciate:

no wonder mail is backlogged for months if this is Canada Post’s new delivery method pic.twitter.com/ji0A1jpg0o

Canada Post always on strike but even when they're not, nothing is done right. 🤷‍♀️

I mean, Canada Post did try to warn us a few days ago that something like this might happen...

We can confirm individuals are illegally obstructing the movement of mail and parcels at Canada Post facilities in Hamilton and Oshawa (ON). We’ll continue to take appropriate action to address illegal activity impacting the collection and delivery of mail and parcels.

Regardless, we're all still furious that most of our holiday gifts won't be here by Christmas day, or even by New Years.

Dear @canadapostcorp - what you did with this strike to Canadians is more than unfair - especially during the holiday season. Your consumers should not be punished for disagreements within the company. You should hire temporary workers to get this backlog of parcels sorted NOW

Why does Canada Post chose literally the WORST time of year to go on strike? 😭😭😭

November 25, 2018

Needless to say, if you still can, you'll want to try out one of Canada's other delivery options for this year. Stay tuned for more information on Canada Post's strike delays.
