Canada's Earliest Heat Wave Ever Is Forecasted To Hit This Week

According toThe Weather Network, Canada is set to see the earliest heat wave on record this week, with some provinces expected to see a couple 20°C days in a row.
So while there may have been an earlier heat wave before they started keeping track of these kinds of things, as far as we're concerned, this is the earliest heat wave ever seen in Canada.
TL;DR With the high potential that Canada's west coast is going to see 20°C weather this week, Canada is poised to set an all-new weather record. Any consecutive days with these high temperatures would become the earliest heat wave on record in Canada.
According toThe Weather Network's meteorologist Tyler Hamilton, western Canada, in particular, can expect to see the warm front pass through and linger for a couple days early this week.
The catalyst? A "strong upper ridge" that is apparently building in Western Canada and will spill "warmth across the region."
This ridge in the jet stream will usher in 20°C temperatures in Canada for the first time in 2019.
The Weather Network predicts that parts of B.C. are most likely to benefit from this weather, with areas like the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Langley the most likely to see these spring (or even summer)-like temperatures.
This is where the record breaking comes in. Any days over 20°C between March 18th and March 20th in areas like Abbotsford would qualify as the earliest consecutive days at or above 20°C.
In 1994, Abbotsford set a record for earliest consecutive days above 20°C, however that happened much later in the month.
More eastern regions could also be graced with this early heatwave, including Calgary and southwestern Saskatchewan.
For Alberta and Saskatchewan, the "record to beat on Monday and Tuesday is 18.3°C and 18.9°C" respectively. The record for those dates was set back in 1928. However, if Tuesday and Wednesday make it up to 17°C, those cities will manage to set new records.
