Canadian Politicians Are Spreading Lies About Weed

Quebec Public Health Minister and Conservative MP lead reactionary outrage.

Quebec Minister for Rehabilitation, Youth Protection, and Public Health Lucie Charlebois speculated that weed is laced with fentanyl and expressed the fear that her grandchildren would start eating cannabis plants.

It turned out to be a sentiment that's widely echoed across political circles.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Conservative MP Peter Kent warned against allowing the growth of weed at home, stating that it would be "virtually the same as putting fentanyl on a shelf within reach of kids."

According to a CBC report, there is no evidence of fentanyl in marijuana.
