Well, Looks Like Canadians Are Falling Out Of Love With Justin Trudeau

All of Justin Trudeau’s political blunders in 2016 (the Aga Khan vacation, no electoral reform, small business tax) are catching up with him and the Liberal Party.

Canadians dislike the Prime Minister more than ever before.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s approval ratings have hit an all-time low, according to the “Mood of Canada” survey conducted by Nanos Research and the Institute for Research on Public Policy.

39% of Canadians describe the Trudeau government’s performance as unsatisfactory, according to the annual report cited by the Globe & Mail. Last year the disapproval rating was 33% and only 23% in 2015.

In contrast, only 37% of Canadians think the Prime Minister is doing a good job, a sharp drop from the 43% seen last year.

As of right now, Justin Trudeau has an approval rating that matches former Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s from 2014.

The Nanos-IRPP survey asked 1000 Canadians (online or over the phone) about their thoughts on the Trudeau government between December 27 to 29.

The data collected shows that men living on the Prairies who are 55 and older are most likely to dislike Justin Trudeau.

Overall, however, the Trudeau-led Liberals aren’t doing so bad. 61% of Canadians say the Prime Minister is doing an average-to-good job, according to the Nanos-IRPP survey. And, compared to other political parties, the Liberals are still ahead in approval ratings.
