Canadians Want The Kawhi New Balance Sneakers So Badly They Crashed The Website

Today, the New Balance special edition sneakers inspired by celebrity Raptors player Kawhi Leornard became available for preorder on the sneaker and sportswear company website.

Within moments, the site began experiencing issues. Many customers are unable to connect to the website. As of the time of writing, an attempt to visit the appropriate page to order the new shoes yields this message: "Sorry New Balance is temporarily unavailable."

Others may receive notice of a 520 error originating from the New Balance server.

As of 11:15 AM, the few Raptors fans who were able to get to the sale page for the 990v5 Championship Pack were dismayed to see that only sizes 14 and 15 were still in stock.

Narcity has predicted that the new sneakers would sell out in minutes. Last week, New Balance also introduced t-shirts that featured some of Leonard's most famous sayings. Those, too, sold out within minutes.

As of 11:22 AM, the new sneakers appear to have sold out. They are no longer visible on the New Balance Canada website. That means Canadians depleted the stock within just over 20 minutes.

Given the success of its Raptors and especially Kawhi Leonard-inspired products, New Balance Canada is sure to continue to roll out products for fans of the Canadian NBA champions.

Canadians are still basking in the glow of glory. Not since 1993 has a major Canadian team achieved so much success. The Raptors victory in the NBA finals represents a turning point in the NBA's relationship with Canada.

Now, politicians in Quebec are reportedly courting the association for its own team.

Stay tuned for more news about the Raptors and the all-but-certain new products from New Balance.
