In Montreal we have a very special relationship with our construction workers. It's not the most loving relationship, but that's understandable considering the kind of situations we've had to deal with over the years.
First of all, our lives are constantly being affected by construction and if you take a look at his map that shows you all the construction sites in Montreal, you'll see there's no escaping it.
But what's really changed the way we perceive construction workers, is that we've seen them do some pretty crazy things.
They've used the wrong paint to draw the lines on the street, which basically just washed away when it rained.
They were too lazy to tow a car, so they actually paved around a parked car. Then a few weeks later they did it again!
They opened up a giant hole on Sainte-Catherine Street and forced pedestrian to risk their lives to make their way across.
But this photo takes the cake. The photo was posted on reddit a few days ago and had since gone viral. It shows a crane using a metal platform to lift up a small excavator to destroy the facade of a building.
The photo was so alarming that the construction site was shut down by the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST)
According to JDM the promoter of the construction site said he doesn't think there are any safety problems related to this work technique.
