As winter approaches, we are no longer craving those healthy salads and poke bowls. Instead, we want dishes that “stick to the bones,” as my mother would say, and lucky for us, we are in a city that can offer exactly that.

Cheese has a way of making everything better. From cheesecakes to fondues, mac and cheese, and fried treats, Montreal has an obvious abundance of incredible restaurants for even the pickiest cheese lover.

There is something incredibly comforting about indulging in a warm and cheesy dish, and nothing more satisfying than enjoying a glass of wine paired with some bread and cheese.

If you're looking for places to embrace your love for cheese with your lover, here's a list of 11 of Montreal's best places to do so. After seeing the photos, you're going to be dreaming about each and every one of these decadent dishes.

Macaroni and cheese is without a doubt one of my favourite foods, especially during autumn and winter. And, let me tell you, the mac and cheese at Mac Bar is out of this world.

Rotisserie Panama

What: Saganaki (Fried Greek Cheese)

Where: 789 Rue Jean-Talon O.

Greeks know what's up when it comes to food. As a Greek myself, I am proud to know that my culture's food is fundamental to the Montreal food landscape.

When you think of Greek food, your mind most likely goes to gyros and feta cheese, but there is a lot more to our cuisine than most assume.

Saganaki is by far one of the best Greek dishes. If you have not yet tried it, it may just become your favourite. Rotisserie Panama gets it right every time.

Do yourself a favour and head on over to one of their 3 locations to try it out for yourself.

Burger Bar

What: Mozarella Sticks

Where: 1465 Rue Crescent

You can never have too many versions of fried cheese, right?

Mozzarella sticks are a perennial favourite and Burger Bar on Crescent in downtown Montreal makes, in my opinion, the best in the city.

Not only are these sticks perfectly fried and flavoured, but the accompanying marinara sauce takes this dish to a new level.

These fried mozzarella sticks of greatness are the perfect appetizer for your cheese lovers' date.

Where: 470 Rue de la Gauchetière O.; 381 Ave. Laurier O.

Fiorellino is an Italian restaurant that has killer lunch, dinner and after nine specials that are sure to have you returning time and time again.

As a sucker for all things cheese, I always get the burrata, as it is simply incredible. Its freshness is incomparable to anything you have ever tasted.

Everything made at this establishment is next level. With two locations in Montreal, there is no reason not to check it out.
