Neon signs are back, and they're here to stay. The fluorescent signs, once considered a relic of the 80s, are making a comeback, much like scrunchies and white sneakers.

What: Specialising in South Indian food, this restaurant deserves all of the praise that it gets. Its beautiful décor doesn't hurt, either.

Caffe Farina

What: Caffe Farina is a charming café in Saint-Henri with one mean capuccino. They have a good selection of fresh Italian dishes like pastas, tomato salads and sandwiches.

What: You probably already know about this popular café in the Old Port that serves a variety of light fare. That doesn't mean it's not worth another visit.

Le Mal Nécéssaire

Where: 1106b blvd. Saint-Laurent

What: This tiki bar may have the most recognisable neon sign in the city: some staff members even have it tattooed. Go for the sign, stay for the fantastic tropical cocktails.

What: This Old Port restaurant and bar serves great, fresh seafood in a location whose ambiance cannot be beat.

What: Kampai is a fun brasserie in the Concordia area. It serves great tapas-style meals during the evening, and turns into more of a club at night. Their neon signs are instantly recognisable.

What: This bar/club in the Old Port buzzes all night long with live music and beautiful people. Their signature neons posted a little all over make for great photos.

What: This chill speakeasy makes a mean cocktail. The pool-themed decor makes for a beautiful background, while the delicious drinks mean you'll definitely have a great night.

What: Fitzroy is a huge bar with billiards and foosball tables. They serve good drinks in a gorgeous location with huge windows, lots of plants and a healthy heap of neon signs.
