When you're feeling a little fancy, almost nothing beats the scene in a swanky Mad Men-style bar or restaurant. Luckily, you're in Montreal, which is full of bars known for their cool and dimly-lit spots where you can get a delicious cocktail and some oysters. Some of you might not remember Mad Men or have never seen it so here's a little reminder. The critically-acclaimed series aired on AMC between 2007 and 2015, comprising of 7 seasons and 92 episodes.

Set in an advertising agency in the 1960s, Mad Men centred around the personal and working lives of Don Draper and his numerous colleagues.

The series won numerous awards, including 16 Emmys. It's considered one of the greatest shows of all time and it's on Netflix Canada, so go check it out!

Fancy a nicely-mixed Gimlet or Old-Fashioned? Well, put on your three-piece suit or Chanel handbag (both at the same time to really make a statement) and look no further than these eight Montreal spots where you can feel like you're living out a scene from Mad Men

Bar George

Where: 1440 Rue Drummond

Located inside Le Mount Stephen, Bar George can trace its roots to 1880, when the grandiose mansion was first built. At Bar George, you'll find incredible drinks and even better food surrounded by literal gold and 300-year-old stained glass windows.

Bar Henrietta

Where: 115 Ave. Laurier O.

Bar Henrietta is inspired by 60s lounges and is one of Mile End's most charming bars. Don Draper definitely wouldn't look out of place on the corner seat, brooding over an Old-Fashioned.

UVille Hotel Saint-Laurent Lounge

Where: 204 Place d'Youville

UVille Hotel is a new arrival to the scene but you definitely need to visit its Saint-Laurent Lounge. The spot's decor is taken directly from 1960s Montreal and the service is bar-none.

Cloakroom Bar

Where: 2175 Rue de la Montagne #100

Cloakroom Bar is by far Montreal's best-not-so-best kept secret speakeasy. Located inside Maison Cloakroom, a fine suit tailor, Cloakroom Bar is cozy and perfect for a pre-dinner drink.

Henden Bar

Where: 1800 Rue Notre-Dame O.

Henden Bar is a bar within a bar! Open only from Thursday to Saturday, this exclusive spot tucked under Bird Bar in Griffintown is the perfect little hideaway to mull over your next big advertising project.

Nacarat

Where: 900 Blvd. René-Lévesque O.

Located in the swanky Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Nacarat is an elegant and sophisticated cocktail club that'll make you feel like a million bucks. You'll definitely impress those automobile executives if you bring them here.

Snowbird Tiki Bar

Where: 6388 Rue Saint-Hubert

Don't forget, the 1960s had their share of kitsch and Snowbird Tiki Bar perfectly captures the vibes of a groovy 60s establishment. This is the place to bust out that linen Hawaiian shirt, my friends.

Atwater Cocktail Club

Where: 512 Ave. Atwater

The Atwater Cocktail Club is a speakeasy hidden at the end of an alley in St-Henri. The decor and menu of dramatic, fruity cocktails evoke the glamour of the mid-century.

For a true taste of the 60s, try the Buena Vista, which comes under a bell jar filled with pipe smoke.

Enjoy your night out, Montreal!
