On Thursday, October 1, Montreal will see a new wave of closures. Bars will shutter their doors and Montreal restaurants will only be available for takeout and delivery.

To thank customers for their support during these trying times and as a sort of "see you later," the Experience Old Montreal group of restaurants will be offering 25% off their takeout menus on Wednesday, September 30.

Restaurants included are Maggie Oakes, Jacopo, Verses Bistro, Nelli Café Vin, Modavie, Bevo, Brasserie 701, Méchant Boeuf Taverne Gaspar, Terrasse William Gray and Vieux-Port Steakhouse.

The offer presents a great way to support local restaurants while maintaining safe practices in light of the government's latest health recommendations.

Each restaurant will close its dining room from October 1 until October 28.

Nelli Café Vin, Bevo, Maggie Oakes and Kyo will be offering both takeout and delivery throughout October.

More novel takeout concepts are sure to arise in the coming month as restaurants once again pivot to respond to their new restrictions.

The first wave gave rise to taco stands, a food truck picnic area, and more options for to-go boxes. The challenge this time will be to adapt to the cooling weather.
