- Take a look at the drool-worthy pics below and get ready for a food coma.
The food hall craze has officially swept through Montreal, with the opening of Le Cathcart Food Court & Biergarten, Le Centrale Food Hall and, of course, our very own Time Out Market Montreal all within the span of a couple months. These great new spaces offer the chance to try food and drink from some of the city's best restaurants all in one place, and it's clear that Montrealers are digging this new style of dining. If there's one thing Montrealers love, it's food, and a variety of it. So it comes as no surprise that these new food hall spaces have become a huge hit in the city.
And if I had to name Montrealers' favourite meal, I think I'd have to say it's brunch. Sure, dinner has its charms, but brunch combines the best of two worlds.
You can have coffee and a cocktail, a waffle and fried chicken, eggs and french fries... really, brunch is made for those who hate to choose.
And now you can be showered with brunch choices at Time Out Market Montreal, as the weekend tradition is officially being served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Each of the restaurants featured at Time Out Market Montreal will be offering up one or two "signature brunch dishes," which will reflect the flavour and flair of their own respective establishment and its cuisine.
Plus, the bar will serve some creative yet classic brunch cocktails, like the Kimchi-Caesar, the Tiki Bellini, and the Mimosa 2.0, seen above.
I think the best thing about the brunch possibilities at Time Out Montreal is that you are completely free from having to choose between sweet and savoury.
Chasse et Pêche will be serving up an "Oatmeal Risotto," seen below, with maple syrup and caramelized bananas.
Or go the savoury route and try the Brunch Burger from Burger T! or the Shakshuka from Foxy, seen below.
And, as I mentioned above, because brunch means not choosing between breakfast and lunch, there's also a Brunch spaghetti from IlMiglio and a Brunch pizza from Moleskine.
Pizza at 11 a.m.? Yes, please.
Plus, of course, there will be the classic breakfast staples, like eggs, toast, and bacon or you can get your hollandaise on with an eggs benny, from Montreal Plaza Deli.
Brunch is now being served every Saturday and Sunday at Time Out Market Montreal between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Dishes will be seasonal, so expect things to shake up come spring.
