Novelty summertime treats are hidden on menus around city like tiny treasures for Montrealers to discover. This summer, for instance, adventurous city dwellers can try ketchup-flavoured ice cream, cotton candy ice cream burritos, and mojito-flavoured popsicles.

Another perennial favourite are the "fishbowls" at Taverne Les Torchés — cocktails served in giant glasses. "Offered in a variety of sizes, our delicious Fishbowls are homemade cocktails that are great for one and all!" the tavern website reads.

The fishbowls come in several sizes and different mixes of liquor and juice. They range in price from $9.75 to $44.00. Split them with a few friends for the ultimate night out. For the brave among us, the smallest of the fishbowls could be enough for a single serving.

Some of the bowls even come with candy embellishments to sweeten the deal.

A hearty menu of substantial snacks and appetizers will sustain you as you down these giant cocktails.

On a nice day, be sure to take advantage of the terrasse on ave. du Mont-Royal.

Taverne Les Torchés is reknown for its "festive" atmosphere, according to its own Facebook page. "Opened on the Plateau since 2014," the institution is "both a neighborhood bar and the icon of Montreal epicureans. Your taste buds and your stomach will be in good hands at Torchés!"

"You will be seduced by our warm decor, our electrifying atmosphere during the broadcast of hockey games, in addition to our Rock music and talented DJs!"

The bar is located at 74 avenue du Mont-Royal E., between boulevard St-Laurent and rue St-Denis.
