Artigiani Pizzeria Cucina

4657 Rue Saint-Denis Montreal, QC H2J2L3
While known for their authentic oven baked pizza, their pasta is equally as close to the real thing as you can get in this city. Their orecchiette al ragu di cinghiale (wild boar) is sinfully delicious. The boar sits lovingly in the small concaves of the orecchiette. Yes, that’s right lovingly. That’s what this place serves you: love.

La Cantina

Owner Domenico Fazioli has been serving up true Italian cuisine for years. So it’s not surprising that his pasta would be top notch. Definitely his linguine with clams will hit the spot.

A warm and friendly atmosphere topped off with great pasta, now that’s a dining experience anyone can bite into. Impasto is the creation of two young Montrealers, Stefano Faita and Michele Forgione. If you weren’t able to hop on over to the boot this summer, these two can definitely serve some authentic cuisine your way. The menu is short — six starters, four pastas, four meat dishes, four desserts. Each one more delectable than the last, but definitely the pastas are a must try.

Welcome to 50 shades of culinary pleasure. Emma Cardarelli, Lisa McConnell and Ryan Gray have created one of the most sought-after tables in town. This chic 50-seater located on St. Jacques is a modern Italian restaurant that sports dark-panelled walls, handsome studded banquettes, thickly framed black and white photographs, and a great-looking bar. If pappardelle bolognese is on the menu... don’t think twice. Just do it.

Pasta Casareccia

5849 Rue Sherbrooke W Montreal, QC H1M2N2
Half restaurant, half Italian specialty store… And, 100% good Italian cooking! Just like your nonna makes you. What do you say to spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli or fettuccine with a creamy white wine sauce? Only one thing: Sì!

Ristorante Primo & Secondo

7023 Rue St-Dominique Montréal, QC H2S1B2
Another gem to be found in the quaint neighborhood of Little Italy. It’s menu here changes depending on availability and seasonality of ingredients. proximity to the Jean Talon markets is pretty much a guarantee that ingredients will be fresh. They make a mean orechiette with sausage and rapini. Should that find itself on the list it’s definitely worth sticking a fork into!

Restaurant Inferno

6850 Rue Saint Dominique, Montréal, QC H2S 1J7
A gnocchi that has dollops of burrata cheese? Yes please! This is definitely not your typical Italian restaurant. It’s a sleek and chic place with a solid menu and few, but stellar options. Buon appetito!

Sweet dreams are made of great pasta, right? This restaurant’s selection will definitely leave you wanting more. The menu changes depending on the season and everything is written on a small chalkboard. A classic on their menu is linguini frutti di mare. you might want to go with a few people so you can all choose to indulge in a different pasta dish. Why have one when you can have them all?
