Freeze and Stir Method\nSimilar to the food processor method, but is for those of you who don't have a food processor, or just don't feel like taking yours out. We feel you.\nIngredients:\n4 cups half and half\n1/2 cup heavy cream\n3/4 cups sugar\n2 teaspoons vanilla extract\n1 pinch salt\nCombine half-and-half, cream, sugar, vanilla and salt together in a medium bowl, and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. When the mixture is cool, pour it into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and place it in the freezer. After 45 minutes, open the door and check it. As it starts to freeze near the edges, remove it from the freezer and stir it vigorously with a spatula or whisk, breaking up any frozen sections. Return to freezer.\nContinue to check the mixture every 30 minutes, stirring vigorously as it freezes. It will take about 3 hours to be ready.
