When it comes to finding crepes in Montreal, there's anything but a shortage of places to choose from. Ville Marie in particular has tons of amazing restaurants serving up some of the best crepes in the city.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this heavenly creation, crepes are basically thin French pancakes that come with a wide variety of fillings, from the very simple to the very, very extravagant. The best part about them though is that they come in both sweet and savoury (salty) form, so it's perfect for every meal.

Crêperie Chez Suzette

3 Saint Paul E

It doesn't matter whether you order a sweet or savoury crepe at Chez Suzette, because whatever it is, it's going to be top notch. For something on the savoury side, the shrimp crepe is always delicious, coming stuffed with Matane shrimp and lobster sauce. For something a little sweeter, you can order their namesake, the Crepe Suzette, which is incredibly tasty and never fails to disappoint.

Muru Crêpe

362 Notre Dame E

The menu at Muru is rather large and features some interesting names for their crepes. The "D'accord" is always an amazing savoury choice, coming filled with almonds, goat cheese, olives and spinach, and it's accompanied by a side of heavenly fries. They also make a mean Crepe Suzette for those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth.

Jardin Nelson

407 Place Jacques Cartier

On Jardin Nelson's breakfast menu, they have three options when it comes to choosing a crepe, all of which are great and the perfect way to start your day. They all come with egg, cheddar and mozzarella, and a choice of sausage, bacon, or ham.

Chez Catherine

31 De La Commune E

The crepes at Chez Catherine are always light, fluffy, and fresh, which is exactly what you want in a crepe. You can't really make a wrong choice when picking a crepe to dive into - but the chocolate banana is a surefire crowd pleaser.

La Crêpe 2 Go

2150 Bleury

This small creperie located in the bottom of a building may not look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you - its crepes pack a powerful punch. You can watch your crepe being made and then either take it to go, or grab one of the few seats in the store to sit down and enjoy your food. If you want something sweet, the banana, strawberry and nutella crepe is truly delicious.

Juliette et Chocolat

1615 Saint Denis

Juliette et Chocolat is known for their delicious chocolate dishes, so ordering any crepe with some chocolate on it is always a solid choice. If, for whatever reason, you're not a chocolate fan, they have tons of savoury options as well. My personal favourite is the Patatas, which comes with potatoes, ham, gruyere and pesto - it's simply delicious. And for all the gluten-free people out there, they also make buckwheat crepes so you can enjoy them as well.

Le Cartet

106 McGill

Le Cartet is a French bistro that's serving up delicious gourmet foods all week long, but when the weekend comes around they have an amazing brunch menu which features a mouthwateringly delicious crepe. It comes with fruit puree and crispy citrus fruit - it's a perfect balance of citrus and sweetness. It's sure to be the highlight of your weekend.

Eggspectations

12 Notre Dame E

At Eggspectations they have a crepe called the "Heavenly Crepe" - which is a lofty claim if you ask me - but once you take a bite of it, you'll understand why that name was chosen. It's a homemade crepe filled with grilled chicken, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, cheddar, swiss and gruyere cheese. It really doesn't get much better than that.
