With the abundance of Italian restaurants in Montreal comes a huge selection of gnocchi, which can be a bit overwhelming, so we’ve compiled for you a list of 11 of the best gnocchi dishes in Montreal.

At Riccardo’s their gnocchi is homemade (and you can tell) and they have 20 different sauces for you to choose from. The Frutti di Mare, with shrimps, scallops and calamari is always a solid choice.
Au Cinquième Péché

If you want something a little out of the ordinary, then Au Cinquième Péché is the place for you. They too have a poutine that uses gnocchi instead of french fries, but theirs is topped with merguez (a type of sausage) made from seal meat. Try it if you dare - you won't be disappointed.

The braised lamb and gnocchi at Tuck shop is an absolute must have. It comes with a Kamouraska leg of lamb, ricotta gnocchi, roasted peppers, olive, fennel, pine nuts, rapini, and gremolata. It’s certainly a mouthful.

If you want something with a bit of a kick to it then you have to go for Venti Osteria’s Gnocchi al pomodoro Piccante. The sauce has fresh chilli peppers and will satisfy your spice needs.
Il Campari Centro

Gnocchi Gorgonzola is, in my opinion, the best kind of gnocchi that will ever be created. That being said, Il Campari Centro’s Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola e Noce exceeds every possible expectation that you could have. It’s served with porcini mushrooms and lots of tasty gorgonzola sauce.

Opened by the same owners as Il Mulino, Bottega are experts in Italian fare, and their Gnocchi con Pomodoro e Basilico is no exception. This house made gnocchi and San Marzano tomato sauce is a must have.

The colour of Salmigondis’ Beet Gnocchi may look a little strange, but the taste more than makes up for it. Their gnocchi is perfectly cripsy on the outside, and soft on the inside, and is served with tons of local mushrooms.

This Little Italy gem really brings its gnocchi game, serving it in a tomato sauce with garlic, basil, hot peppers and homemade ricotta.
