Brunch is arguably the best meal of the day. It combines salty with sweet, dessert with "real food" and, because it's both breakfast AND lunch, you can eat two meals' worth of food in one sitting. It's also a great time to sit with your friends and re-hash the previous night's antics, or catch up with someone you haven't seen in a while over a good cup of coffee. The way I see it, there are really only two downsides to brunch: having to get dressed, and paying $25 for fancy eggs. Though I can't do anything about the first problem, I can do something about the second one. I've compiled a list of the best brunches where you can get a plate of food for 10$ before tax and tip. What: This Plateau location has everything a brunch place needs to be successful (a witty name and great waffles), and it's my personal go-to. Their specialty is stuffed waffles, which will only set you back between $4-$6.50. It's really worth getting their brunch plate though: for about $13 you get coffee or tea, fresh juice, a waffle, salad and eggs. They have really limited seating though, so make sure to get there early! Website Restaurant L'Avenue Where: 3 locations: Plateau, St-Henri, and Boucherville. What: This place is what brunch dreams are made of. They have a ton of great dishes to choose from and really cool décor. Though some of their options are on the expensive side, you can get a real good plate of eggs or an omelette for under $10.
