Life in a fast pace city like Montreal can get expensive, especially when you decide to eat out every day, whether it be at a restaurant, a café, or a food hall. So, when you find a way to save a dime or two, you should take full advantage. Since I know restaurants hike up the prices of wine like crazy, I sought out some of the best BYOB restaurants in Montreal and I'm here to share them with you!
One of the many advantages of bringing your own alcohol to a restaurant is that you're likely to have tried it beforehand, so you don't have to worry about sending it back to your server. And it's a whole lot cheaper, which means the less money you spend on alcohol, the more you can spend on food to fill that drunk belly up!
The restaurants on the list are scattered all over Montreal, so you'll hopefully be able to find a solid BYOB restaurant no matter where you are in the city. I also tried to include different types of cuisine, just to make sure there's a little something for everyone.
If you pay close attention to the addresses on the list, you'll notice that Avenue Duluth seems to be the hot spot for apportez votre vins. Just a little idea to keep in mind next time you're hunting for the city's BYOB hub.
Pizzeria Napoletana
Address: 189, rue Dante
Pizzeria Napoletana has been around since 1948 and it's safe to say that it's been one of the best spots for authentic Italian pizza since then.
The fact that it's a BYOB restaurant just makes it even more appealing. So grab your favourite red wine and head on over!
Yuukai Fusion Japonaise
Address: 5407, ave. du Parc
Yuukai Fusion Japonaise has a wide range of unique sushi options, so vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters all have something they can enjoy from the menu.
And if you're into fish, believe me when I say that this is the perfect spot for you.
Le P'Tit Plateau
Address: 330, rue Marie-Anne E.
A typical French bistro that may fool you into think you've made your way to France for an hour or two.
If you're a plateau local, or just love hanging out in the area, this is a perfect spot to go for a solo dinner or a romantic evening.
And of course, you can bring whatever bottle you fancy!
Pho Viet
Address: 1663, rue Atateken
Pho Viet does Vietnamese food right. Even though Pho only recently became a fade in Montreal cuisine, the owners of this restaurant have been serving this delicious dish since they opened their doors over 30 years ago.
And they keep their customers coming back time and time again.
A little wine and noodles? Pho sho!
Le Jardin de Panos
Address: 521, ave. Duluth E.
Le Jardin de Panos Greek BYOB resto that is famous around the city for its unbeatable brochettes.
In the summer, it has a lovely outdoor terrasse. Just yet another reason to get excited about the heat. But don't worry, they'll make sure your wine is kept cool.
Lannes et Pacifique
Address: 200, rue Beaubien E.
This cute apportez votre vin bistro is one of the best restaurants in Rosemont — at least in my humble opinion. The chef's ability to perfect traditional French dishes will amaze both you and your taste buds.
Every plate tastes incredibly fresh, so make sure you show up with an appetite.
Eduardo Duluth
Address: 404, ave. Duluth E.
Calling all pasta lovers, it's time to try Eduardo Duluth (if you haven't already). Hands down, this place is a carb haven and we're blessed to have it in our city.
Plus, you can bring your favourite wine bottle (or two) along with you to pair with their delicious plates!
La Khaima
Address: 142, ave. Fairmount O.
The food, the ambiance, the staff, and the alcohol (that you bring yourself) all combined make La Khaima one of the most notable BYOB restaurants in the city.
The restaurant's unique decor is also totally worth a mention. This is a great spot for any Montreal food blogger to get some quality content for their Instagram.
O-Thym
Address: 1112, blvd. de Maisonneuve E.
Some of the most flavourful dishes can be found coming out of the kitchen at O-Thym. From salads to steaks, everything the chefs make tastes like a little piece of heaven.
Bring a nice bottle of bubbly with you and be prepared to want to try the entire menu!
Khyber Pass Restaurant
Address: 506, ave. Duluth E.
Khyber Pass is one of Montreal's most authentic Afghani restaurants. Known for its delicious kebabs, you're sure to never be disappointed after eating here.
Grab a bottle of wine and one of your closest friends and go try it out — you won't regret it!
La Maison Grecque
Address: 450, ave Duluth E.
Yup, you guessed it: another Greek restaurant. Montreal is so blessed to have so many options when it comes to good Greek food in the city.
To match the restaurant's traditional Greek dishes, make sure your BYOBottle is from the same country.
See you on Avenue Duluth!
