Montreal is hosting a food festival and 150 diverse restaurants are taking part. This November, you'll have the chance to try gourmet meals without breaking the bank at MTLàTABLE. Visit MTLBlog for more headlines. Yes, Montreal is a haven for food festivals of every kind. We are spoiled with festivals from every nationality that has ever cooked a meal. And they're all fantastic. But one of my favourite food festivals is coming back to the city; MTLàTABLE. Every November Montreal's best restaurants get together and offer fixed table d’hôte dinner menus for a fraction of the usual restaurant cost. Restaurants have three options for the menu, $23, $33 or $43. No, it's not as cheap as other festivals and you are limited to the selection of the set menu, but it's a chance to taste some of Montreal's most popular (and sometimes expensive) restaurants without paying full price. MTLàTable has grown a lot over the last eight years; this year there are 150 restaurants across town taking part. And they've added a few new events to the two-week festival like the Signature events, the Cacao Barry contest, and this year select restaurants will also be serving up brunch for only $17. From past years I've found that restaurants don't skimp out on the meals or service either. Even though it's a deal, the chefs work hard to create something that represents their restaurant and is also wallet-friendly. Seven restaurants are taking part in the Signature Events. The 5-course meals were dreamt up by star and guest chefs at some of Montreal's more exclusive establishments like Jellyfish, Europea, and Estiatorio Milos. The table d’hôte menus are $83 and mainly composed of the finest Quebec products. Without a doubt, they will fill up soon, so try and make a reservation as soon as possible. You can check out the restaurants taking part, their menus and the dates they will be open here.
