Montreal's brunch culture continues to reach new heights. The popular meal continues to be a staple — even during the pandemic. And, with so many brunch places in the city, it's hard to stand out from the crowd. Kamúy however, has managed to do just that. The Bagatelle brunch on weekends is not something you are going to want to sleep on. Editor's Choice: Costco Is Opening A Special Store Near Montreal With Items You Can't Get At Regular Costco What's on the menu and when can I get it? Renowned chef Paul Toussaint continues to impress. It's "very different from the other standard eggs, bacon, toast brunches in Montreal," a restaurant representative told MTL Blog. "The menu combines the fine-dining tradition of French cuisine, the comfort of Québécois casse-croûte culture, and the diverse influences of the many communities that call this city home," according to a statement. Divided between the savoury and sweet, the brunch menu includes dishes like "le traditionnel" ("mirror egg, half plantain, shredded griot, avocado purée and frijoles refritos") and the "Crêpe Kamuy" ("pancake stuffed with chocolate, English sauce with coconut and cinnamon rum, passion fruit and mango"). The Bagatelle brunch will be happening on Saturdays and Sundays until 3 p.m. Thereafter, you can enjoy an array of tapas dishes. What's the atmosphere like? The representative told MTL Blog that this brunch is "a bit of a party in the sense that there are music and a festive atmosphere." This restaurant is also a cultural space, a place where art and music play as big of a role as the food. "Music has always been a big part of Chef Paul’s restaurants," a statement reads. "And in addition to the eclectic soundtrack patrons will hear on a given day in the restaurant, at brunch, the party vibe intensifies, and the music is a vital part of the experience, just like back home." Those dining in can expect to move and groove from their tables to the sounds of reggae, bachata, merengue, salsa, jazz, and more. The restaurant also has an outdoor terrasse with heaters so diners can eat outside even during the fall. Get all the details below.
