Prepare those appetites! Le Burger Week is back this year in Montreal and across Canada with a new challenge to chefs: inspire us with your best burger creations and be sure to cheese it up. For the 2020 edition, the late-summer, early-fall staple has officially become Le Cheeseburger Week. In the first week of September, Montrealers will be able to fill their bellies with impressive creations from restaurants across the city. Editor's Choice: 8 Montreal Dates Every Couple Should Do Together Before Summer Is Over The complete list of participating spots has yet to be released, but early entries include Brasserie 701, Taverne Gaspar, Lou, Méchant Boeuf, Brasseur de Montréal, Maggie Oakes, Paulo et Suzanne, the Marché des Artisans, McLean's Pub, and last year's Public's Choice winner, Brasserie des Rapides. The week, sponsored by Saputo and Lightspeed, will work a little bit differently this year. Some of the proceeds will go toward funding Centraide and United Way, "philanthropic organizations that collect donations to support a vast network of community agencies that help individuals and families," according to the press release. Instead of voting for their favourite burger creations, participants will be asked instead to donate to these organizations. Some participating restaurants will also be offering take-out options to adapt to the current context. Last year's winners offer a hint at what kind of towering sandwiches and unique twists diners might expect this year.
