Just yesterday we let you in on how to get yourself, and now we're back with some more meat-y news...
There is no dish out there that could not be enhanced by bacon. And that includes cocktails. Luckily Quartier DIX30 agrees with that sentiment and challenged chefs to come up with their best "baconized" recipes.
In this year's fifth edition of the annual Bacon Week, restaurants are going all out in their attempt to create the most bacon-licious concoctions of old and new recipes.
Gone are the days of bacon being relegated as a second class breakfast staple. It has graduated, summa cum laude, to desserts, aperitifs, and as the valedictorian of the plat principal.
There are 17 restaurants currently taking part in Bacon Week. And from the pictures below, each and every restaurant is taking the challenge seriously.
Bar Les Cousins went above an beyond by creating a selection of cocktails specifically for the event like the Bacon & Tonic, Bacon Caesar, Salty Mule, Pig Manhattan, and Flying Pig.
Some restaurants took a more classic route and revisited comfort food picks like mac and cheese, poutine and burgers. While others kept it gourmet with things like the scallop and bacon nigiri at Niji Sushi bar.
But there is one thing all the recipes have in common: absolute decadence.
Check out the pics and recipes below. Warning: food porn ahead.
It's hard to know where to start with all of the choices. So why not mix it up and after a bacon cocktail head for some dessert at Le Vestibule to try their bacon churro concoction.
Brasserie T! (shown above) composed a work of art with their soy-braised home bacon, marinated eggplant, Tuscan cabbage, and spicy pepper puree.
But of course, the classics never go out of style. Le Club's bacon mac & cheese with smoked fontina cheese, green onions and a parmesan brioche crumble is enough to make a grown man weep with joy.
And though L'Aurochs' burger may not sound like something new, it's made with wagyu beef, the tenderest Japanese meat, topped lovingly with...you guessed it, bacon.
And after your all bacon, four-course meal, head over to Chocolats Favoris for an ice cream cone dipped in caramel and topped with milk chocolate coulis, maple flakes, and bacon bites to end your night on the right note.
Quartier DIX30 in Brossard is less than a 30-minute drive away from downtown Montreal. A perfectly reasonable drive for an excess of bacon.
