Le Burger Week is finally upon us Montreal and our stomachs sure do have their work cut out for them. With over 30 restaurants competing for the title of best burger, its gonna be tough to make the choice of where to eat. Let MTL Blog help you make an informed decision with our daily updates on what we ate every day during Le Burger Week 2013. Here is our day 1 roundup.\nDeca 77: The Decca 77 Burger\nOur first foray into Burger Week began at the swanky and charming Decca 77. Known for its wine selection, Decca 77 is definitely making strides in the burger department with their self-titled burger. Using all homemade ingredients, from the bread to the condiments, the Decca 77 Burger has an Angus beef patty mixed with herbs, mozzarella, house ketchup, aioli, arugula, red onion, pickle house tomato, and an over easy egg all held within a brioche bun. The patty has a unique flavour dimension unlike a standard patty (it almost has a lamb/kebob flavour to it) while the slightly runny egg pairs perfectly with the brioche bun. A great beginning to Burger Week.\nFor live action footage of the Decca 77 Burger, check out MTL Blog's video interview with Le Burger Week coordinate Na'eem Adam here.\nBurger Royal: The Faux Boss Burger\nA newcomer in the MTL burger scene, Burger Royal brought its A game with the Faux Boss Burger. Named after their most popular burger (the standard Boss), Burger Royal's Faux Boss Burger includes lettuce, tomato, carmelized onions and mushrooms, bacon, fried jalapenos, and sauced up with some homemade spicy mayo and their Dr. Pepper BBQ house sauce. Despite being a little messy, the Faux Boss Burger is HUGE on flavour. All of the ingredients combine nicely into a burger packing some serious punch. You'll get a little messy, but you won't care. Pair it up with Burger Royal's tasty Captain Crunch Milkshake (using milk soaked/imbued with the sweet cereals flavour) for a classic burger experience.\nOne day is done and there are so many more burgers to look forward to.
