Friends, living in Montreal my whole life, I've learned a whole lot of things about the city. The main one? Montreal is beautiful AF.\nCombine the beauty of Montreal and the abundance of outdoor things to do and you have got yourself an epic outing! Not to mention that the weather is just getting warmer which means that you will actually want to be outside as much as possible, especially when the sun is shining.\nNow because I'm such a lovely human being, I have rounded up some of the best free outdoor activities for you to try this month. I mean hey, we don't get that many warm days in Montreal and now that spring is here, it's the perfect time to go out and enjoy the weather.\n1. Strap on your running shoes and go for a jog through Mount-Royal.\nvia @shewho_wanders\nThere's no better way to rediscover Montreal in the springtime than by trekking through Mount-Royal.\nHike through the mountain and discover the pristine trails, or go jog near Beaver Lake and check out the impeccable park. Either way, you're in for a good time!\n2. Get yourself to Montreal's Rosemont and discover all the cool street art.\nvia @ciaomiranda12\nAlthough the Plateau might be your first stop to check out Montreal's awesome street art, there are actually beautiful spots to check out throughout the city.\nRosemont is a gorgeous Montreal borough, with super clean parks and gorgeous outdoor spots to discover. However, It's not just the street art that makes this neighborhood so gorgeous.\nMontréal's Big Spring cleanup weekends, Les Grandes Corvées, is a social movement which aims to keep the city clean and fresh year-round, starting from April 1 - December 31, by relying on us to do some spring-cleaning around the city.\nWhen we work together to keep Montreal clean, we can all enjoy the super fun things the city has to offer, like Montreal's Rosemont.\n3. Stroll through St. Catherine Street and check out the Aires-Libres installation.\nvia @queermtl\nDay or night, St. Catherine Street is definitely a sight to see. It only gets more beautiful in May, when the Aires Libres (pink balls) art installation comes out.\nWalk under (or above!) the balls and prepare to see St. Catherine from a whole new, beautiful perspective!\n4. Dust off your bicycle and go for a ride along Montreal's Lachine Canal.\nvia @dee.spang\nMontreal has some of the most gorgeous and pristine bike paths in the whole country, in my opinion. You've got waterfront views and urban vibes, all wrapped into one.\nBiking along the Lachine Canal has got to be one of the most fun, free outdoor experiences in Montreal. If you want to really discover how beautiful the city can be, you know where to go!\n5. Pack a picnic and head on out to Jarry Park.\nvia @les_curieux\nSituated in Montreal's borough of Villeray, Jarry Park is gorgeous.\nIt's got a clean, pristine lake; beautiful bike and jogging trails; green grass and gorgeous flowers; and spots to sit and admire it all. Packing a picnic and enjoying it at this spot is a smart thing to do... just remember to thank the beautiful people at La Corvée who are part of the reason why this park stays looking beautiful. \n\nIn fact, last year, more than 21,500 Montrealers came together to clean up the city! That's a lot of people! So how was this all possible? Well, every year, the City of Montreal provides organizers with a digital sign-up platform to recruit participants. Each person that participates is provided with a cleaning kit which includes a t-shirt, gloves, bags, a rake and a shovel.\n\nSo how does the City of Montreal thank each participant? Well, with prizes of course! There are many sweet things to be won all thanks for your participation in making the city of Montreal look beautiful.\n6. Let the good times roll at Montreal's outdoor "beer garden".\nvia @graciepelunia\nMontreal's beer garden, AKA Jardins Gamelin, is going to be open once again in May - which means good times for all! This spot is perfect for chilling in a super clean and gorgeous area and admiring all the beautiful springtime vibes.\n7. Take in the good vibes at Mount-Royal's Tamtams.\nvia @rachel_schaftybaum\nA Montreal tradition, you cannot enjoy the city without soaking up the super refreshing vibe at a tamtam session on Mount-Royal at least once.\nFor added good vibes, trek up to the very top of the Mountain and enjoy the beautiful, scenic view of Montreal.
