The city of Montreal is not one to slow down during the winter season. Right when the majority of us feel the strong temptation to go into hibernation and wait out what’s left of the dark, cold days, Montréal en Lumière hits the streets.

This year will be no exception and for the first time, Montréal en Lumière will be hosting Illuminart, an incredible outdoor urban museum. This major addition to the festival is the new must-see element of wintertime in Montreal.

A fusion of art, lighting and technology, Illuminart is the perfect way to light up those winter blues and celebrate Montreal’s 375th anniversary. The 3.6 km circuit will take over the heart of the Quartier des spectacles from February 22 to March 11, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Not only will this experience brighten up your evening, it will bare no burden on your wallet. This impressive event is completely FREE and open to everyone, whether you’re with family, friends or riding solo.

Featuring 25 interactive and magical light sculptures created by artists, creators, engineers, set designers, graphic designers and videographers from Montreal and around the world, the illuminated urban space is sure to impress and entertain!
