With more than half of the planet's population now dwelling in urban areas, there's no question big-city living is where it's at nowadays. But with the increase in convenience and access made possible by the metropolis, a huge sacrifice of surface area is necessary, resulting in modern, albeit, tiny living spaces.

Working with only about 500 sq. ft., locally-based design and construction firm, L'Abri, stripped and completely transformed a tiny condo to create the totally unique The Drolet project in Montreal's Villeray area.

Capitalizing on the open-space concept, The Drolet project efficiently integrates multiple storing spaces and modular divisions along the lengths of its walls, to truly maximize every single square foot of the narrow property. These innovative features become an interesting part of the design, and offer stylish and functional living spaces with optimal comfort.

With growing rent and condo prices, this tiny living trend is more popular than ever. So learning to live in these smaller spaces, and investing in smarter design is becoming the best way to access property in the city.

From concept to delivery, L'Abri is building efficient, innovative, and functional properties, and properties like The Drolet project showcase just how effective the design-built approach can be. By offering both design and construction services, L'Abri creates unique, tailor-made spaces for residential, commercial and public projects that fit perfectly with today's urban lifestyles, without compromising on composition, comfort, or quality.
