New Year's Eve is by far the funnest tradition; we celebrate by leaving the past year behind and set goals for the new year to come. And I don't know about you guys, but I am so done with 2016! So it's only appropriate to leave it with a bang.

While there are tons of different options for New Year's Eve parties in Montreal, most of them involve breaking the bank. Especially after all that Holiday gift shopping, and then Boxing Day sales, it's just another reason to spend spend spend!

But I've got great news guys. Merry Montreal is organizing a TOTALLY FREE New Year's Eve Party this year that gathers some of the Canada's leading performers out on a huge outdoor stage.

On December 31 at Quai Jacques-Cartier in the Old Port of Montreal, none other than Scott Helman, SonReal, Alex Nevsky, Bernard Adamus, Klô Pelgag and Louis-Jean Cormier will be performing to close up the year 2016!

The party will culminate with a countdown at midnight, and then the biggest fireworks in the city will ring in the new year! The New Year's Eve Party is sure one of the biggest parties you've even been to, and the most festive way to end 2016 and to kick-start 2017.

And it doesn't end there. Live DJs will have you dancing until 2am, and with all kinds of entertainment throughout the entire night, there's sure to be something for all preferences! This is truly going to be the party of a lifetime!

To add even more magic to the already super romantic, charming and historical Old Port of Montreal, Merry Montreal brings more holiday feels with a variety of free activities. In fact, from December 1st to January 1st, activities like Outdoor Holiday Flicks, karaoke, and more for the entire family are happening throughout neighborhood. Also, the annual Christmas Market which offers a ton of authentic local products is taking the iconic Place Jacques-Cartier by storm every December weekend until Christmas!

So if you're looking for a super fun, outdoor New Year's plan, look no further. And don't worry about the weather: the musicians, the fireworks, and the spectators are sure to bring in the heat.

The festivities start at 7 p.m on December 31st at Quai Jacques-Cartier, and the show begins at 10pm!
