Sochi is officially upon us. Homophobia and hilarious tweets aside, Sochi is still the site of the Olympic Winter Games, where Canada's greatest athletes will rep the nation and show off their pro skills.

More than a few Montrealers are in the mix, and stand to make some big wins in the name of Canada and our fair city. Find out which Team Canada athletes you should root extra hard for, as we list the Montrealers at Sochi.

Maxime, Chloe, and Justine Dufour-Lapointe

Age: 24, 22, 19

Sport: Mogul Skiing

Expected Winnings: Gold...for one of them

Past Winnings: FIS World Championships 2009-18th (Maxime), Olympic Winter Games 2010–5th (Chloe), FIS World Championships: 2013–Bronze

Sibling rivalry goes to new levels with the Dufour-Lapointe sisters, all in the running for taking Gold at Sochi. Whoever wins will get bragging rights at every fam-jam until the next winter games.

Sebastien Toutant

Age: 21

Sport: Snowboarding

Expected Winnings: Bronze

Past Winnings: Tour Ticket to Ride World Snowboard (2nd place), Winter X Games XV (gold)

Toutant is already off to a good start, ranking 3rd in his initial heat. Updates to follow on if he makes it to the medal on Saturday's final showdown.

Maxence Parrot

Age: 19

Sport: Snowboarding

Expected Winnings: Silver

Past Winnings: Winter X Games: 2013  (silver)

Parrot made the best time in the qualifying heat, putting him in a good place to win a medal. He's even got a bad side, bashing Shaun White on Twitter (tweet was deleted) for dropping out of the competition.

Catherine Ward

Age: 26

Sport: Hockey

Expected Winnings: Gold

Past Winnings: 2010 Olympic Champion, 2012 World Champion, Three-time World silver medallist

Already an Olympic champion, Ward will bring some Montreal intensity to the ice at Sochi. She always needs a pre-game coffee #caffeineaddictssolidarity

Marc-Édouard Vlasic

Age: 26

Sport: Hockey

Expected Winnings:

Past Winnings: IIHF World Championship: 2012–5th, 2009 -silver

A member of Team Canada twice so far (but not for the Olympics!) Vlasic is surely going to help Canada win the Men's Hockey gold at Sochi.

Caroline Ouellette

Sport: Hockey

Expected Winnings: Gold

Past Winnings: Three-time Olympic champion (Vancouver 2010, Turin 2006, Salt Lake City 2002), six-time World Champion (1999-01, 2004, 2007, 2012), five-time World Silver Medallist (2005, 2008-09, 2011, 2013)

Ouellette has already done it three times, so why not win gold a fourth at Sochi? She's also got a degree in criminology, so she's like Batman on skates.

Alexandre Bilodeau

Age: 26

Sport: Mogul Skiing

Expected Winnings: Gold

Past Winnings: 2010 Olympic Champion, 2011 and 2013 FIS World Silver Medallist, three-time FIS World Champion (Dual Moguls)

The first Canadian to ever win an Olympic gold medal on Canadian soil, Bilodeau looks to have a repeat performance at Sochi.

Kaya Turski

Age: 25

Sport: Slopestyle Skiing

Expected Winnings: Silver

Past Winnings: 2013 FIS World Champion, 2011 AFP World Champion, 2011 FIS World Silver Medallist

Turski tore her ACL and had knee surgery back in August. We'll see if this plays into this seasoned vet's performance at Sochi. I wouldn't be too worried though, she's torn her ACL three times already.

Christopher Del Bosco

Age: 31

Sport: Ski Cross

Expected Winnings: Silver

Past Winnings: 2011 FIS World Champion, 2010 and 2012 Winter X Games Champion, 2011 Winter X Games Silver Medallist

After a fourth place finish in Vancouver, Del Bosco has torn it up the international scene, an intensity he'll bring to Sochi and hopefully grab a medal.

Carey Price + PK Subban

Age: 26, 24

Sport: Men's Hockey

Expected Winnings: Gold

Past Winnings: 2007 World Junior Champion (Price), Two-time World Junior Champion in 2008 & 2009 (Subban)

Yeah, we know they're not from Montreal, but the pair plays for the Canadiens, and that's enough in our books.

Which Montrealer are you rooting for?
