For those of us lucky enough to have a sister, we know that it can be simultaneously the best and worst thing in the world. Sure, they may steal your clothes, use your make-up without asking and rival you in some of the worst knock-down drag-out cat fights of your life, but they're also like having an automatic best friend.
Hanging out with your sister is the perfect excuse to splurge a little or try something new, all in the name of familial bonding. If you're looking for something fun to do the next time you see your sister, you definitely have to check out this list.
1. Treat yourselves
There’s nothing more relaxing (and girly) than going to the spa for a luxurious mani-pedi, which makes it the perfect way to spend time with your sister. Montreal has tons ofto choose from, so you two can feel free to test out as many as you’d like.
2. Have a tea party
Turn the pretend tea parties that you had as kids into a reality with a high tea service - there are a few throughout Montreal. If you want to get extra fancy, try the afternoon tea at the Ritz. For $32 you get a selection of teas, finger sandwiches, scones and pastries. It’ll be super fun and make for some pretty cute pictures.
3. Go shopping
There’s no one better to go shopping with than your sister because she’ll have no hesitation in giving you her brutally honest opinion. Together you can check out some of the cool boutiques on St Laurent for more unique finds, or head down to Saint Cats for some of the bigger brand stores.
4. Eat an excessive amount of chocolate
Yes, it’s a stereotypical girl thing to get together and eat a lot of chocolate, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. Montreal has some of the most amazingrestaurants, so head on over to Juliette et Chocolat or Cacao 70 for one of the best, most decadent meals of your lives.

If you and your sister are both lucky enough to live in Montreal then you should consider signing up for a gym class together. It’s a great way to make sure you see each other on a regular basis and even if you both suck at it, you can laugh at each other without any judgement.
6. Stuff yourselves with sushi
Your sister is probably the last person that’s going to judge you for eating way more food than you should, because let’s be real, she’s probably seen you do a lot worse; which makes her the perfect person to go with to shamelessly fill yourself with all-you-can-eat sushi rolls. Sushi Crescent is always a good option, or you can try out one of the many.
7. Bring back childhood memories…
with candy. Candy stores like Carré Confiseries have every variety of candy that you two probably snuck extras of behind your parents backs, from Pez to Fun Dips to jawbreakers. It’ll be sure to bring back some nostalgia, and maybe also a cavity.
8. Go drinking
Meeting your sister for happy hour is the perfect excuse to try out new, fun, Montreal bars. And so be it if you continue to drink well after happy hour is over, because you’re bonding so hard. Distillerie and Le Lab are always a good time with fun drinks and a cool atmosphere.

9. Play with cats
Granted neither of you have allergies, going to either one ofis guaranteed to be a super fun time. It takes the whole idea of grabbing coffee with your sis and makes it 10x better. You two can sip lattes while also playing with some pretty adorable cats, and it really doesn’t get better than that.

10. Go for brunch
It’s a pretty well accepted fact that brunch is the best meal of the day, so why not go with your sister? There are literally hundreds ofin Montreal, most of which are great, but from personal experience Beauty’s and Brutus Bar are top notch. Now all you have to do is add some mimosas to your order and you two are in for a perfect meal.
11. Take a cooking class
Your sister is the perfect person to try something new with, especially if it’s something you might be bad at, like cooking. You guys can try to up your chef game together at one of theoffered throughout the city. Even if it all goes horribly wrong, you can bond over how supremely bad you were.
12. See a movie
One of the best things about having a sister is that you can do things together without ever feeling the need to constantly carry out a full conversation, which makes her the perfect person to catch a movie with. You can enjoy the film while filling your faces with popcorn and candy.
