The first thing I discovered while writing this article is this: Free campsites are rare. Not only that, but some sites that used to be free often change their policies and start randomly charging small amounts of money depending on the year. So be smart and bring $20. You know, just in case. We still managed to find 7 FREE campsite as well as 2 very cheap ones. We also posted a link to a great Facebook group who share their secret camping spots as well as a map displaying the different areas where camping is unrestricted.
