Downtown Montreal Has A "Tire Sur La Neige" Hut
Quebec's most traditional activity right in our own backyard.
I'm going to be totally honest with you guys: for me, winter is kind of depressing. Is it the gray? The cold? The snow? The ice? I don't know. All I do know is that few things can pull me out of the winter blues.
Except for tire sur la neige, that is.
This annual Quebec tradition is probably the thing I look forward to the most every single winter/spring season. There's good food, good vibes, and, of course, the chance to roll yourself a stick of pure, all-natural happiness (AKA, pure, all-natural maple syrup).
And although most of us have been travelling quite a ways to get our hands on that sweet, sticky maple taffy, there's actually one spot where you can get a fresh stick of maple syrup, right here in the city.
Stephanie Voghell is a kiosk in Montreal's Phillips Square, just across the street from The Bay's downtown location on St. Catherine Street.
They've got all kinds of maple products, like sugar candies, maple lollipops, and pure maple sugar.
But the best part?
They do one super impressive tire sur la neige, too. That's right, friends. You can get this maple delicacy in the heart of downtown Montreal, pretty much any time you feel like it.
