Drea Wheeler is a celebrity fitness coach, actress, model, brand ambassador and example for women everywhere. I immediately felt inspired and motivated just scanning through her website. You can find this girl boss at Victoria Park health club motivating people to be the best versions of themselves. I know I'm going to need Drea's help, because I need that summer body... the sooner the better.

In order to help out our readers (and myself), I decided to get in touch with Drea and ask her what it takes to get my dream body, fight laziness and straight up win by May 2016. It's a reasonable amount of time to give to oneself. We have about three months before summer rolls round, which means right now is the perfect time to start working on that hot summer bod. Preferably, with a personal fitness coach.

Don’t Do It Alone

Many experts recommend setting a resolution with someone else or even in a group. This way, you have other people to rely on when you feel the motivation slipping.

Another way to stick to your fitness plan is to receive continuous support from someone who is an authority figure in the fitness niche. [...]

It all comes down to support [...]. Being a part of a group with like-minded people reminds you that you’re not alone in your pursuit.

It reminds you that you’re a part of a community that looks out for each other and remind one another not to quit when the challenge gets tough.

Create A Schedule

Write down the days you’re supposed to be attending (my) trainings on a calendar.

When it’s written down, it becomes ritualized and non-negotiable should you become tempted to rationalize out of skipping a workout.


Ask yourself questions to find your resolve when you feel it’s lost.

  • How will I feel if I lost 30 pounds by the start of the second half of this year?
  • How will I feel when I can confidently take off my shirt at my company’s next annual pool party?
  • Wouldn’t it be nice if I can finally fit into that new pair of designer jeans I saw at the mall the other day?
  • How ashamed will I feel if I abandoned my resolution again just like I did the year before?

See The New You In Your Mind’s Eye

Can you imagine yourself with six-pack abs instead of a potbelly? That would make you extremely confident, wouldn't it?

Visualization is a powerful tool and you should use it to your advantage. You have to believe that you can and visualize what it is you want to achieve in order to be successful.

Create an image of what your ultimate goal is and constantly remind yourself of what you want to achieve. You'll be surprised how effective this can be.

It’s Never Too Late to Start

You can begin a resolution at any time.

The road to a fabulous body (and a better you) is not going to be easy. There will be many temptations, especially when seeing delicious cookies at the grocery store, or when you would rather hit the snooze button when you’re supposed to be out of bed for a morning session.
