Reggae is coming to the Old Port this weekend with the advent of the 11th edition of Montreal's International Reggae Festival. For three days, reggae tunes and rhythms will take over the Quays of the Old Port, with local and international musical guests and performances.
Starting on Friday August 15th, the Montreal International Reggae festival will run all weekend 'til Sunday August 17th. Well over 20 musical acts can be seen and heard over the three day festival, along with kiosks full of swag, reggae workshops, games for kids, and tons of eats from local restaurants filling out the festival's lineup of things to do.
Relatively young in comparison with some of Montreal's other festivals, Reggae Fest has proven to be major cultural attraction, growing larger each and every year, and maybe you'll add to the number if you've never been. Afterparties will also be held during the weekend, so even if you don't make it to the daytime events, you'll have some Reggae Fest events to hit up in the evening as well.
