Thanksgiving weekend is barely two weeks away, and you're stomach is already growling for some turkey, pumpkin pie, and the heavenly creation that is stuffing. Absence may make the heart grow fonder, though not when it comes to delicious holiday eats. Thankfully, your taste buds will be happy to hear that Thanksgiving is coming early to Montreal this weekend via Lufa Farm's free Thanksgiving Open House event.
Lufa Farms, an urban agriculture company that houses two rooftop greenhouses (in Ahunistic and Laval) is inviting all of Montreal to take a tour of their facilities while also enjoying some seasonal Thanksgiving treats. Two days of Thanksgiving-themed tours will be given, one on Saturday for Francophones and one on Sunday for English speakers, both of which will be entirely free.
During Lufa's Thanksgiving event, expect several food trucks and vendors serving your favourite dishes, along with product tastings from local producers, Thanksgiving dinner recipe exhibitions, and face painting, in case you want to look like a turkey while eating some turkey. You'll also get a chance to learn about Lufa's rooftop greenhouse setup, which is pretty interesting on its own.
All for free, you will need to register for a Thanksgiving tour, which you can do at Lufa's website here. Tours will be held all day on Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th at Lufa's Thanksgiving Open House, the perfect place to appease your Thanksgiving food cravings.
