The list of Montreal street festivals you need to check out is getting long, but we have one more to add to the list, and this one is totally worth it because it's located in one of the most charming neighborhoods in the city.

The beautiful neighborhood of Verdun is definitely one to check out if you're new to the city, receiving guests from out-of-town this summer, or you're a born and raised Montrealer but never bothered to travel south of the canal. This happens more often than you would imagine, Montrealers tend to get stuck in our little bubbles.

But now, it's time to break free!

With a distinctly European vibe, Verdun is actually one of the oldest settlements in Canada, and this can be easily felt when strolling down Wellington street where you can see iconic and historic landmarks along the way.

The borough is shutting down the main street of the neighborhood - Wellington Street - to make way for foot traffic only during a 3-day long street festival this month.

From Thursday, May 31st until Sunday, June 3rd, Wellington-street will be closed down to pedestrians only. There will be all kinds of food, artisans, clothing, homeware vendors, and more to check out.

For more information on this street festival, check out their official Facebook event HERE.
