Construction is a fact of life in Montreal, and that was never more true than in the 1960's. Titled as the "golden age of construction" in Montreal, the 60's saw a huge jump in the building of major city structures. Place Ville-Marie got things started in 1959, with Square Victoria, Chateau Champlain, and Place Bonaventure all built in the following years . The photos below, taken from archives of Montreal, offer a rare glimpse into the year between 1965-66, when these these famous Montreal structures were built. Take a look and watch Montreal history literally being made.
