First the bad news: the labour market is in the pits right now. Between February and June, an average of 12.4% of Canadian workers aged 15 to 64 lost their jobs on a monthly basis due to the pandemic, according to Statistics Canada. In comparison, the average monthly layoff rate during the first months of the 2008 recession was 2.5%.\nAnd because it's way easier (and more satisfying) to lose a job than to get one — as anyone who has loudly exited their workplace hurling insults at their bosses and coworkers will tell you — things could be tough for a while.\nEditor's Choice: Over 60% Of Montreal Businesses Asked For English Skills & Legault Says It's 'Concerning'\nIn fact, during the last three recessions (1981 to 1982, 1990 to 1992, and 2008 to 2009), about 45% of people who lost their jobs never got them back.\nThe good news is 419,000 jobs were created in July and the unemployment rate dropped to 10.9% as businesses continued to reopen across the country.\nCombined with the gains made in May and June, the country was within 1.3 million jobs of our pre-pandemic level. So we're making a comeback.\nAnd there are many companies in Montreal hiring right now and some are even paying a decent wage if you're willing to hustle.\nSo, with that in mind, here are six jobs in and around Montreal with salaries at $100,000 or more.\nNote that these postings are subject to change at any time and will be taken down when the positions are filled.\nSoftware Sales Executive\nSalary: $85,000 – $115,000 per year\nView this post on Instagram This is a great idea! 😂 . . . . #sales #salesfun #salesmemes #salespeople #saleslife #salesforce #salesteam #salesrep #salesreplife #b2bsales #salesexecutive #salesplaybook #salesteams #salesleads #salesprofessionals #sdr #bdr #salesexecutives A post shared by Sales Playbook (@salesplaybook) on Aug 11, 2020 at 4:34am PDT\nVoxco is looking for an ambitious sales executive to join its team.\nThe ideal candidate is bilingual, has a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field, and at least five years of relevant experience.
