We let you know last month that it looked like summer was going to be super wet in Quebec this year. Well, now it turns out we can expect more than just rain.

In a new report from The Weather Network, meteorologist Doug Gillman is anticipating that the "changeable" weather Quebec has in store is going to result in an "active and stormy pattern," that is expected to continue "well into the summer."

This active and stormy pattern means Quebec is likely to see a heightened risk of thunderstorms and severe weather that could result in flash flooding.

The precipitation forecast for Quebec's summer 2019 can be seen below, with the stretch on either side of the St Laurent showing an above-normal amount of precipitation for the upcoming months, according to The Weather Network's meteorologist Jaclyn Whittal

While we saw below seasonal temperatures in June, we should soon begin to see more seasonal warmth, but the active storm track between north and south, along the jetstream, means that we're caught between two different temperature patterns - the perfect recipe for thunderstorms.

That jetstream can be seen in the image below.

The jetstream can be seen blasting through Toronto and up near Quebec city, where temperatures are expected to be slightly below seasonal. Further south, cities like Boston and Halifax are going to experience the hot and sticky humidity caused by the Bermuda high seen chilling in the Atlantic below.

These two opposing systems have Montreal and the other cities along the Saint Laurent caught in the middle. Below seasonal warmth to the north, above seasonal warmth to the south, and places like Montreal will see the stormy result of these contrasting climates.

To summarize, The Weather Network provided this awesome little "Summer Highlights" infographic that lays out exactly what summer in Quebec is going to look like.

So, that hot, hot, heat we saw last year is going to grace us later in the season and until then we can expect the "active pattern" to bring us lots of rain, thunderstorms and potentially even some flash flooding.

Good thing there's a bunch of awesome new stuff coming to Netflix...
