Brossard Is Getting A $1 Billion Mega Complex
Brossard gets bigger.
In the wake of, it would seem like some of Montreal's other surrounding towns also want super-expensive and lavish building projects. Well, at least Brossard does.
Unveiled at a press conference held by last week, the City of Brossard plans to build a $1 billion "mega complex" that will include 2000 housing units, a convention centre, a hotel, and large green spaces for residents to enjoy.
Officially, the building project is (and will be) known as TOD Quartier à Brossard, with the "TOD" being an acronym for "transit-oriented development."
To be built on the the north-east corner of Highways 10 and 30, the soon-to-be mega complex will only be a (very) short distance from Dix30, adding to the lavish life of suburban luxury already seen in Brossard.
The private building project may also add a light rail system to Brossard, thus providing an easy means for residents to zip on over to the Island of Montreal. Nothing is confirmed yet, as consultation for the building project still needs to be held in winter 2016.
According to city officials quoted by Global News, one of the major reasons for the creation of TOD Quartier à Brossard is to allow the residents of Brossard a means to work within the city with a variety of employment opportunities.
