Founded in 2005, Amnesia Rockfest has become the premiere rock music festival in Canada, and is one of the largest in all of North America. Taking over Montebello, Quebec every June, Rockfest has had internationally acclaimed musical acts like like Weezer, Korn, Dream Theatre, and System of a Down headline the festival (among many others) and this year will be no different.

According to an MTL Blog source who has insider info on Rockfest 2016's lineup, both the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Eminem will be headlining the 11th edition of the music festival. While the source couldn't outright confirm the claim, they were "very confident" both artists would be performing at Rockfest.

Of the two, Eminem seems like something of an odd addition to a festival centered on rock music, but this isn't the first time a rap artist has been on the festival's lineup. Lets not forget that Cypress Hill headlined in 2014 and Snoop Dogg was a featured artist at Rockfest 2015, and if the Eminem rumour turns out to be true, it seems as if Rockfest's organizers are trying to diversify the festival's list of acts.

Also quite interesting is the fact that the rumour of the Red Hot Chili Peppers attending Rockfest 2016 has been around for quite awhile. As the embedded tweet below demonstrates, the rumour of the musical group headlining the festival has been floating amidst the interwebs for over a year.

As with all festival news that can't be 100% confirmed, the headlining acts of Rockfest 2016 are subject to change, and may not include Eminem nor the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Expect an official announcement on this year's lineup next month, when Rockfest's Facebook admins said it would be released.
