Québec Alert Ready has issued a dam failure warning for the Rouge river downstream of the Chute-Bell dam to the Outaouais river and Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.

Québec Alert Ready is a service that issues alerts that enable the Ministère de la Sécurité publique (MSP) to quickly warn Quebecers of events posing a real or imminent threat to their lives or safety.

TL;DR Québec Alert Ready has issued a dam failure warning for the Rouge river downstream of the Chute-Bell dam to the Outaouais river, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. People in the area should evacuate immediately.

Sécurité publique Quebec tweeted this out Thursday afternoon:

The warning states that "this is a risk of dam failure alert from Québec Alert Ready. This alert issued by ministère de la Sécurité publique is in effect for: Rouge river downstream of the Chute-Bell dam to the Outaouais river and Grenville-sur-la-Rouge."

The affected area is between the Chute-Bell dam and the Outaouais river. The warning states that citizens in the affected area should evacuate immediately, avoiding any rivers, valleys and low-lying areas. 

The affected area is located west of Montreal.
