Montreal Construction Workers Have Completely Messed Up This Street Downtown
People in the area are super angry!
Montreal construction workers are notoriously famous for messing things up. They do extremely, they don't bother the streets and they even .
But this week they've managed to outdo themselves by completely ruining a street in the Plateau.
On Friday morning, one of our readers noticed that Montreal city workers were paving a section of Sainte-Famille Street between Pine and Prince Arthur.
The work that was being done on the sewer pipes below had been completed for over a week, but for some reason no one bothered to come back and repave the street. And since they waited so long the street was now covered in dead leaves.
So what did the workers do? Well they just paved the street like they normally would.
They poured the asphalt right over the dead leaves, and as they were spreading and flattening it, more leaves kept falling into the mix.
When they were done the whole street was completely filled with embedded dead leaves which means that in a few weeks those leaves are going to start decomposing, and the street will be riddled with tiny holes and cracks.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the leaves that didn't get stuck in the asphalt were blown around all over the neighbourhood, so now the sidewalks and cars all have concrete leaf shaped stamps.
Did I mention they also left random piles of asphalt on the sidewalk?
Here they didn't even bother to flatten the asphalt properly.
Putting all that aside, the worst part of all this is that it was only 7°C when the street was being paved which is too cold for the asphalt to bind properly. So three days later the street is already beginning to warp and crack.
If you’ve ever wondered why Quebec has the worst roads in the country, you now have your answer.
Great job guys!
