Okay, I'm sure you read this headline and all let out a huge WTF... am I right?\nBut it's true, joining the ranks of some of Canada's best festivals, Montreal will see the first ever Vulva Festival this spring, celebrating the wonder of the Vagina.\nREAD ALSO: It's Official, Halsey Is Coming To Montreal\nNow, this may sound like a joke, or that I'm poking fun at an event such as this one, but I absolutely am not.\nVia Festivulve\nVagin Connaisseur will see the inaugural edition of their event, Festivulve, this June.\nTheir mission is to inspire society by focusing on the beauty and natural diversity of vulvae by making a festive, creative and accessible event for all human beings.\n"After the wave of #moiaussi #metoo, it seemed important to give back to the vulva, to celebrate it with a positive spirit and an educational mission. Offer concrete resources while using art, humor and joy as group therapy." Festivulve Mission Statement.\nThe official programming for Festivulve includes:\n20 artists (10 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday) \n\t9 vaginally relevant organisms\n\t12 vulvian workshops (6 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday)\n\t20 educational conferences (10 on Saturdays and 10 on Sundays)\n\t11 eclectic shows (7 on Saturdays and 4 on Sundays)\n\t10 renowned DJs (5 per day, between 10 am and 10 pm)\n\tLSQ interpreters for Montreal's deaf community\n\tFree for 12 years old and under.\n\tVulva Booth\nThe Vulva Booth has got to be the most interesting part of this new festival.\nThis is an intimate space where it will be possible to observe her (the) vulva, and to have it photographed or even molded.\nThe event had a bit of a rough go at things getting set-up.\nFinding the space to host such an event was not easy - but more so, social media censorship on facebook and having accounts suspended 3 times hindered this festival getting off the ground.\nThey indeed found a space, and are ready to see the first event of its kind in Montreal this June!\nWhat's so cool about this festival is that 50% of their profits will be donated to a foundation that supports a vaginal cause (ovarian cancer, vaginismus, endometriosis, etc).\nWhen? June 9th & 10th\nWhere? Loft Hotel\nHow Much? Passes for the weekend are $25. Daily passes are also available.\nThe vulvian revolution has arrived and it is clitoral!\nHere is the Facebook event page.
